The latest “All” section shows you messages from the primary folder, the “General” section, and the requests in the DMs section.
Direct messages are an essential part of communication on Instagram. Either with friends, creators, followers, companies, and (potential) customers. To give users a better option to access messages, Instagram is rolling out a new section for DMs that merges all messages into one folder.
Instagram DMs: latest “All” folder provides a complete overview
App researcher and social media expert Hammond discovered a test for the new feature already in July 2022; now, the roll-out of the section “All” for the Instagram DMs starts.
This new area could provide social media managers, creators, Etc., with a quick overview, as there is no need to switch back and forth between the individual subfolders. However, this complement is only a tiny UX.
However, Instagram has already made many optimizations for the DMs this year, 2022. In the spring, there was a significant makeover of the messaging area, including introducing quick sharing, music previews, new chat themes, etc.
In July this year, the platform enabled shoppers in the USA to process product payments via direct messages. Customers can also ask questions about products directly to companies.
The platform is testing the possibility of sharing its chat activity via DM. To make the messages more interactive, users can let their chat partners know what activity they are doing, either watching Reels or scrolling through the feed.
The “All” section rolled out for US users first. The rest of the Instagram users will avail of this new feature later.
